Public Labs and observer mode

Making a Lab public exposes its overview and makes it eligible for Public Labs discovery. It does not publish every block. The owner must publish blocks one by one.

Inside a published block, only active, accepted, top-level items marked shared appear publicly. Solo items, member-only blocks, proposals, archived work, and nested discussion threads remain excluded.

1. 1Open Lab settings as the owner.
2. 2Switch Public observer access from Private to Public.
3. 3Choose Open join, Request approval, or Invite only.
4. 4Choose whether activity and the member list may appear.
5. 5Publish only the blocks that are ready for an outside audience.
6. 6Copy the observer link and test it while signed out.

• Read the public overview and published shared work.
• Reach the Lab through Discover or a stable observer link.
• Sign in and join or request access when the policy allows.
• They cannot post, comment, react, vote, upload, edit, invite, or use Lab agents until they become a member with the needed role.

• Confirm every shared item in the block is appropriate for public reading.
• Remove personal or licensed material that should not be republished.
• Check whether showing member names is necessary.
• Unpublish a block immediately if its context changes.
